Orochi, an ensemble based in The Hague, takes its name from an eight-headed dragon of a Japanese legend. Just like the dragon in the myth, they consist of 8 musicians: 6 instrumentalists, mezzo-soprano and conductor .
Their main goal is to present newly written and existing music side by side, and to commission contemporary composers from around the world bringing a refreshing approach to contemporary and 20th-century music. The ensemle is dedicated to combining music with other art disciplines, creating a truly unique concert experience for their audience.
